Self-reflection tool

Love language

What makes you feel loved?

Two people can love each other honestly and both still feel short-changed, because each is giving in the way they would like to receive. This helps you name how affection actually reaches you — and the way you hand it out without noticing.

What this measures

Five ways of giving and receiving affection: words, time together, practical help, gifts and touch. The result is your order of preference rather than a score — what matters is which one you reach for first.

Worth saying plainly

This is a tool for self-reflection, not a validated measure. The five-way split is popular because it gives couples language to talk with, not because five has been shown to be the right number of categories. Use it to start a conversation, not to settle one.

A tool for reflection and for having language to describe yourself — not a validated measure.

Common questions

Can my love language change?
Yes. It shifts with life stage and between relationships. Someone buried in work usually swings toward practical help even if words are what they normally need. Retaking this in a year or two may well give a different answer, and that is not a flaw.
If two people have different languages, are they incompatible?
A mismatch is not a bad sign — it just means it has to be said out loud. Most of the feeling that a partner does not care comes from both people trying hard in a way the other does not recognise as trying.
Is the language I give the same as the one I need?
Often, but not always. Plenty of people give in the way they were raised and need something quite different back. If the result matches how you give but not what you feel is missing, that gap is exactly the thing worth saying out loud.
Is my result stored anywhere?
Nothing leaves your device. The test runs entirely in your browser, and if you save it to a Thấu Mình profile it stays in this browser's own storage on this device.
